from the OVID listserv:

Dear Ovid Customer:

The needs of the market constantly inform how we build all of our products. OvidSP was designed and developed based directly on extensive interviews with information managers and end users. That’s why we're excited to announce the following new OvidSP features scheduled for implementation in early April 2008.

MARC Records
You’ll be able to download MARC records for all books and journals that your institution subscribes to on OvidSP.

Additional Enhancements
We continue to monitor customer feedback and suggested enhancements as more and more users begin searching on the new platform. Similar to the recent tab name change from “SilverPlatter Syntax” to “SilverPlatter Search”, the following enhancements are also scheduled:

  • After performing a search, your OvidSP screen will remain at the search field rather than “jump” down to the results

  • Visual improvements to the Results Manager and display of inline abstracts

  • Improved functionality of RSS feeds in Internet Explorer 6

  • Exporting of annotations to EndNote, RefWorks, and other standard citation managers

Stay tuned for more details, including specific date and time, on the implementation of these new features and enhancements.
